We are a member of a number of Preferred Provider Organizations such as CHPC, Blue Shield, United Health Care and others. Feel free to allow us to check on your coverage when you begin care here. We will be happy to help you bill your own insurance if that works and we are always available to answer questions. reception@embracehealth.org.
We are also participating providers with Medicare. Please ask about Medicare or read the billing rules here.
Q: I have been in an accident. Can you help?
A: Yes, we can help. If you have auto insurance with Med Pay we can bill them directly or if the accident is the other person's fault, then we can bill their insurance company as well. Our office will also work under a lien on occasion.
Q: Do I need a prescription from my MD to see a Chiropractor?
A: Doctors of Chiropractic are portal of entry providers, like Dentists. You don't need permission or a referral to see one. Some insurance companies use a gatekeeper, who limit all kinds of care. On a few limited plans they might require a referral, but this is not common and has only to do with billing.
Q: I don't have any insurance. Can I be seen? Is it really expensive?
A: Many of our patients have no insurance. Others might have high deductible plans for major medical insurance plans. We also discount care if you take care of the bill at the time of service. We have a very affordable membership as well as pre-paid packages. We also can arrange for Xrays and or MRIs at significant discounts, if needed.
Q: Will my insurance cover massage?
A: Massage must be deemed medically necessary in order to be considered by most plans. If we are out of network with your insurance carrier, you may submit your superbill to see if you can get reimbursed. You may also try to submit to your HSA or HRA. If we are in network, we can not bill your insurance.
Q: Why doesn't insurance cover everything you do in the office?
A: Insurance companies are for profit. They make money by cutting costs so they make money. We offer some services that your insurance company may not want to pay for. We will tell you our reccommendations for what we believe is in your best interest, based upon our care of others like you. You ultimately get to decide what choices you make in your health care plan. We will do our best to tell you, again, based on our experience, what will be covered and what might not. We find it better to give you the opportunity to make those decisions yourself.
Health insurance is complicated. Please make sure you are aware of what YOUR policy limits are. We bill as a service, to the best of our ability. We ultimately cannot be responsilble for the contract between you and your insurance company, particularly if we are not contracted with them. We take care of people based on their health needs, not their health insurance coverage. It is up to you to understand your own policy.
If you have more questions, please bring them to our attention. We do our best to be transparant.
